Applications/Usage & Features

Item Information

Transair Pipe Connectors install fast and with minimal tooling. All Transair connectors are designed to securely fit around Transair pipe, increasing system efficiency and preventing compressed air leaks. Transair connectors come in a variety of styles for easy assembly and layout design of compressed air, vacuum, and industrial/inert gas systems. All Transair components can integrate into existing copper or steel systems, allowing for easy expansion of an existing system.

The “full bore” design of Transair connectors, paired with the low coefficient of friction in the aluminum pipe ensures optimal flow throughout the compressed air system. All connectors are 100% recyclable, silicone free, and made from materials with no propagation of flame. All connectors conform to the UL94HB standard. Parker Hannifin warrants all Transair components to be free of defects in material and workmanship for 10 years from the date of installation.

Transair 1/2” (16.5mm), 1” (25mm), and 1-1/2” (40mm) connectors use push-to-connect technology. All connectors ship from the factory pre-torqued and marked. To install, just push the pipe into the connector until the insertion mark meets the end of the connector. There is no need to tighten the nut of the connector further. All 1/2”, 1”, and 1-1/2” pipes come from the factory with the insertion depth pre-marked, but if field cutting is required, the insertion depth needs to be marked using a Transair marking tool.

Transair 2” (50mm) and 2-1/2” (63mm) connectors use snap ring technology. With a snap ring connector, a polyamide retaining ring is inserted into 2 holes at the end of the pipe. This ring, along with tightening the connectors nuts with a spanner wrench, prevent the connector from coming off the pipe. All 2” and 2-1/2” pipes come from the factory with the snap ring holes pre-drilled, but if field cutting is required, the snap rings holes need to be drilled using a Transair Drill Jig.

Transair 3” (76mm), 4” (101mm), and 6” (168mm) connectors use clamshell technology. The clamshell fitting has a removable cartridge (seal) that fits over the end of the pipe and is prevented from sliding by the lugs on the end of the pipe. The connector is then fitted over the lugs and the cartridge and bolted down using a cross pattern to prevent stripping the bolts. All 3”, 4”, and 6” pipes come from the factory pre-lugged, but if field cutting is required, the lugs need to be made using a Transair lugging tool and die.
