DWV PVC (Drain, Waste, and Vent Polyvinyl Chloride) pipe. DWV pipe is similar to Schedule 40 PVC pipe in many ways but unlike Schedule 40 pipe, DWV pipe is not intended to contain any pressure. The drain, waste, and vent applications of DWV PVC pipe is limited to situations where the entire flow is generated by gravity, with no required pressure containment.
